On the April 14, HD Hyundai Infracore announced that it held the ‘10th Annual Safety Day’ event at the auditorium of its head office in Hwasu-dong, Incheon to foster safety culture awareness and strengthen the resolution to prevent major accidents and achieve zero accidents.

The inaugural Safety Day event was held in 2014 to foster safety awareness and internalize a safety culture among employees, with this year marking its 10th year. A total of 140 people attended the event, including Co-CEOs Cho Young-cheul and Oh Seung-hyun of HD Hyundai Infracore, and Representative Union Chairman Ahn Jae-seon, as well as representatives of in-house business partners.

Under the theme of ‘Safety for All, We Are All for it’, the day’s event was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the event and promote ‘Safety for All’ as a core value of HD Hyundai.

The safety culture activities carried out over the past 10 years were revisited, and awards were presented to 26 groups that performed excellent activities throughout 2022. An awareness of accident prevention was raised by sharing best practices, such as introducing a jig for the excavator cabin (driver’s seat) to eliminate high-risk high-elevation work and improve productivity with curtailed assembly time and improving around 80 risk factors within the organization through 3-5S activities.

Chairman Ahn Jae-seon of HD Hyundai Infracore’s Incheon Labor Union said, “By succeeding to create a system in which labor and management jointly participate and forge trust, a safety culture will become more firmly rooted and internalized as an inherent value.”

President-CEO Cho Young-cheul of HD Hyundai Infracore also said, “It is truly inspiring to jointly undertake this safety culture project with the labor union for ensuring a safe workplace,” and added, “Let’s strive together to make Safety Day itself obsolete by internalizing a safety culture as a daily routine.”

To internalize the safety culture, HD Hyundai Infracore established a safety culture department in 2021, the first in Korea where labor and management participate jointly.
