HD Hyundai Infracore Wins Grand Prize at 35th Korea Labor-Management Cooperation Awards
HD Hyundai Infracore received the Grand Prize in the corporate category at the 35th Korea Labor-Management Cooperation Awards hosted by the Korea Enterprises Federation (KEF) held at the Korea Press Center on Tuesday, April 18.
The event was attended by KEF Chairman Kyung-shik Sohn, Minister of Employment and Labor Jung-sik Lee, Federation of Korean Trade Unions President Dong-myeong Kim, Economic, Social & Labor Council Chairman Mun-su Kim and other stakeholders. HD Hyundai Infracore CEO and President Young-cheul Cho and Labor Union President Jae-sun Ahn also attended, winning the Grand Prize.
HD Hyundai Infracore has multiple labor unions, four unions in its three business sites, and has experienced no disputes over the past twelve years through active communication such as its ‘Labor-Management Development Committee’ and ‘Subcommittee for Employee Welfare.’ It has also made great efforts to create unity throughout the whole group since joining HD Hyundai in 2021, by hosting sports events in which all four labor unions have participated.
The labor union has also contributed in overcoming management crisis in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, suggesting first to freeze basic pay.
CEO and President Cho mentioned, “It is a great honor to receive this prize, especially as we are experiencing important changes within the company such as the change in our corporate name and launch of the new brand DEVELON. I believe it was possible for us to receive this grand prize as both the labor and management paid respect to each other and worked hard to make a happy working environment for both employees and their family,” and added, “I would like to thank all of our employees for showing such endeavor and will work with the labor union to create an even more pleasant workplace environment. We will also do our best to fulfill corporate responsibilities such as finding ways to coexist with our partners and engaging in various CSR activities.”
Labor Union President Jae-sun Ahn shared his winning speech by saying, “HD Hyundai Infracore’s labor union has been able to overcome issues within the different unions with faith and communication. A united voice has been the key in cooperating and communicating with the management. This has resulted in creating the first ‘Labor-Management Safe Culture Part’ among domestic companies along with other cooperative cultures where both the labor and management are engaging in,” and added, “We will keep up the efforts to create a further growing relationship between the two parties based on trust and respect.”
