HD Hyundai's Construction Equipment Sector Diagnoses ESG Risks for 300 contractors
HD Hyundai's three construction equipment affiliates are set to actively support partner companies in implementing ESG management.
HD Hyundai XiteSolution, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, and HD Hyundai Infracore have collectively carried out ESG self-diagnosis evaluations for 300 business partners until April 30.
This diagnosis evaluation is part of the ‘Supply Chain ESG Management Support Project’ that the three HD Hyundai Construction Equipment affiliates are conducting in collaboration with the Korea Productivity Center. Through self-diagnosis evaluations, small and medium-sized business partners/ companies that have trouble implementing ESG management can easily check their current status and improvement items by ESG field.
This self-diagnosis evaluation will be administered in writing or online using the online system developed by the Korea Productivity Center. The evaluation items consist of 65 questions across the five areas of ethics, environment, labor and human rights, safety and health, and management system, and related laws and explanations are specified for each question.
To support partners’ understanding, the three construction equipment affiliates have revised their ESG management policies and codes of conduct for partners, and posted them on the affiliate’s respective websites. Online ESG education was also provided for two days from the April 6 to 7.
The three construction equipment sectors selected 60 partners in July based on the results of this self-diagnosis evaluation, in addition to transaction importance, ESG management level, etc., provided follow-up onsite inspections and consulting until October, and aim to support the identification of improvement tasks and solutions.
An official from HD Hyundai XiteSolution, the holding company of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Sector, said, “This program will make a difference in establishing a systematic ESG management system for business partners in terms of ethical management, fair trade practices, human rights, and the environment,” and added, “We will further entrench our stance as a sustainable company through various management support for co-prosperity.”
