HD Hyundai Electric Conducts Safety Education for Contractors
HD Hyundai Electric has recently conducted safety education for 37 contractors at HHI Integrated Safety Education Center.
The safety education, jointly organized by the company’s Purchasing Department and Safety and Environment Department, aims to enhance the safety awareness of the contractors. It is in line with HD Hyundai Electric’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, followed by the company’s previous collective training and on-site training for contractors in the first half of the year.
Son Ik-Je, the Chief Safety Officer of HD Hyundai Electric, expressed in his welcome address that the company is committed to supporting the contractors in recognizing the importance of safety management. He emphasized on the systematic establishment of workplace safety to minimize accidents.
The education comprised theoretical and practical sessions. The theoretical training included industrial accident statistics, the roadmap for reducing serious accidents, and the details on safety risk assessments. The practical training took place at the Safety Education Experience Center, where the safety officers from the contractors directly experienced various industrial accident scenarios, such as falls and electric shock, over a three-hour period.
HD Hyundai Electric plans to conduct another on-site safety education for the contractors on September. The program will cover comprehensive risk assessment techniques and provide guidance on acquiring risk assessment certification, contributing to a safer industrial environment for all.
