HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Mipo Continues Yearly Community Service through Kimchi Making
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Mipo are continuing the tradition of sharing kimchi for 33 years, spreading warmth to underprivileged neighbors in Dong-gu, Ulsan.
On November 17, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Mipo, and HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation held the "2023 Sharing Kimchi Event" at the Hyundai Square in Dong-gu.
The event was attended by Lee Sang-kyun, CEO of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Kim Hyeong-gwan, CEO of HD Hyundai Mipo, Member of Parliament Kwon Myeong-ho, Mayor Kim Jong-hoon of Dong-gu, and Lee Jeong-seok, Director of Dong-gu Comprehensive Welfare Center, as well as various internal volunteer groups from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, such as the Job Circle Alliance.
This year, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Mipo prepared 3,400 boxes of kimchi (a total of 17,000 kg), which will be evenly distributed to 2,655 households in need and 44 social welfare facilities in Dong-gu, Ulsan.
Since 1991, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has been hosting kimchi-making events, being the first in the nation, and annually sending freshly made kimchi to underprivileged neighbors with the help of volunteers.
Since 2020, they have been purchasing ready-made kimchi to support more people and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
An official from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries stated, "Considering the recent rise in the cost of ingredients such as cabbage, we prepared a generous amount of kimchi for our neighbors who may feel burdened by kimchi preparation. We hope this will help them endure the cold winter."
