HD Hyundai Robotics Showcases Cutting-Edge Technologies at AUTOMATICA 2025

HD Hyundai Robotics, HD Hyundai’s robotics subsidiary, is accelerating its push into the European market with next-generation products and solutions.

HD Hyundai Robotics announced on June 25 that it is taking part in AUTOMATICA 2025, one of the world’s largest robotics trade fairs, held in Munich, Germany, for four days starting June 24 (local time).

Germany’s “AUTOMATICA,” together with Japan’s “iREX” and China’s “CIIF,” is considered one of the world’s three major robotics exhibitions and a flagship event representing the global robotics and automation industries. This year’s show is expected to attract more than 800 participating companies and over 50,000 visitors.

At the exhibition, HD Hyundai Robotics is showcasing a range of advanced products and solutions incorporating cutting-edge technologies, including hybrid collaborative robots, AI-based welding solutions, and CAD-based 3D vision solutions.

The hybrid collaborative robot HDC Series features a maximum payload of 50 kg and a top speed of 6 meters per second—about six times faster than conventional collaborative robots. It uses RADAR sensors to detect its surroundings: when there are no people nearby, it operates at high speed, but when a person approaches, it automatically slows down to ensure safe collaboration.

The AI-based welding solution analyzes the shape of the molten pool in real time during welding and autonomously adjusts parameters such as current, voltage, speed, and posture. This enables the system to maintain high weld quality under varying conditions, including changes in base material condition as well as ambient temperature and humidity.

The 3D vision solution scans the workpiece, imports the data into CAD, then predefines the weld lines and calculates the optimal path and posture for welding. By correcting positions in real time and tracking the weld seam, it enhances accuracy and reduces defect rates.

In addition, HD Hyundai Robotics is also exhibiting various other innovative technologies, including the new hollow-wrist robot model HDR12H-14 and vision-based handling solutions.

At the company’s booth, visitors can try out the direct-teaching function used to program tasks on the HDC collaborative robots, as well as experience the dedicated teaching pendant for cobots and the RADAR sensor. HD Hyundai Robotics is also hosting technical talks at the booth, focusing on its hybrid collaborative robots and AI-based welding technologies.

A representative from HD Hyundai Robotics said, “We joined this exhibition to showcase our innovative technologies and differentiated competitiveness to the world in the European market, where demand for technology-intensive industries is high and standards for automation solutions are very strict,” adding, “We plan to focus on developing next-generation models and advancing our technologies in order to compete with top-tier global companies.”
