HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding (HVS) has recently been awarded with the greenhouse gas inventory verification statement by Lloyd's Register (LRQA).

The event was held on December 17 at HD Hyundai Global R&D Center, attended by Kim Hyung-kwan, CEO of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, and Lee Il-hyung, General Manager of LRQA Korea.

HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding has established the greenhouse gas inventory covering Scope 1 and 2 for its Vietnamese operations from April to November 2024, and recently completed third-party verification through LRQA in accordance with international standards as the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-3.

Kim Hyung-kwan stated, "Based on the greenhouse gas inventory, our plan is to systematically manage energy use and greenhouse gas emissions at each business site, and gradually enhance our data-driven management system to meet global climate disclosure requirements."

With the greenhouse gas inventory verification, HVS strengthened its credibility by confirming the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of its greenhouse gas calculation and management system at the international level. Based on the verified data, HVS aims to establish a carbon management strategy and disclose ESG data for stakeholders.
