HCE Joins UN Global Compact to Reinforce ESG Management

Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) has become a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), one of the most renowned global initiative for corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

The signing ceremony was held at Global Compact Network Korea (GCNK) office on January 11, attended by Choi Chul-gon, CEO of HCE; Kwon Chun-taek, GCNK Secretary-General; and others.

UNGC is the global initiative launched by the United Nations in 2000 which aims to support companies to align strategies and operations with 10 Universal Principles on human rights, labor, environment, etc. More than 18,000 companies and organization from 162 countries have signed it to this day.

As a signatory to UNGC, HCE is fully engaged in its social responsibility and promoting sustainable develop- ments in business. The company is also required to implement 10 principles and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and then to submit annual progress report. 

Choi Chul-gon, CEO of HCE said, "By joining UN Global Compact, we will integrate the global standard into our business practices and continue to further strengthen our ESG management."
